Why I Stamp:

1. To protest the christian nationalist motto In God We Trust. It is unconstitutional, divisive and exclusionary.

The phrase In God We Trust was added to the paper currency in the 1950’s, during mcarthyism as propaganda during the cold War with Russia. To give the middle finger to the godless communists in Russia and make the world think that America is a Christian nation.

The phrase was designed to give the middle finger to anyone who is not a Christian.

We should bring back the original motto that our Founding Father’s had in mind for this country  which is: E Pluribus Unum.  Latin for From The Many One. Which they used it to signify 13 different colonies coming together as one country.

Today we could use it to signify that we are a melting pot of many different cultures, races, religions coming together under one country.

2. Raise awareness of voter suppression. Many Republican states are enacting voter suppression laws that make it harder for people of color to vote. These tactics include:

Voter registration restrictions

The criminalization of the ballot box

Felony disenfranchisement

Voter purges

Redistricting and gerrymandering

Voter ID laws

All of us are affected by these voter suppression tactics, however people of color are disproportionately more affected by it.

General Comments:

Thank you for taking the time out and viewing my profile and investigating further into voter suppression. It means a lot to us bill stampers. It takes a lot of work to spread the word by stamping the back of money.
