RUSH: Insights from the #1 Stamper

Here at Stampede HQ, we’re always looking for new ways to stamp. Despite our competitive leaderboards, we like to give everyone the tools to succeed at stamping because we all play an important role in the movement to stamp big money out of politics. @RUSH, our #1 Stamper, has turned stamping and distributing bills into a fine art. He has also been very generous in discussing his methods with other Stampers. Here are some tips we’ve learned from RUSH:

Stamp Towards the Sides

During our October 8th call with Head Stamper Ben Cohen, RUSH told participants that bills stamped towards the center are more likely to be rejected by ATMs, self-checkout kiosks, and other machines. If you want to make your stamped bills more user-friendly, stamp on the sides!

Stamp Outside the (Rubber) Box

One of the keys to a successful social movement is creativity, which often requires thinking outside the box. It’s what we like about our method of stamping out money in politics. We love that our unique approach to organizing, doing so in a way that transcends distance and time.

We’re even happier when our Stampers use our platform to flex their creative muscles. RUSH uses our guru stamps, which feature a larger reporting section for easier readability. However, he applies each side of the stamp to opposite sides of the bill and uses two different ink colors, thus drawing attention to both stamp phrases.

(If you’re feeling extra creative, you can take a page from @UUCU‘s book with a DIY stamping platform.)

Trade Cash for Gift Cards

Gift cards: they’re not just for presents. RUSH has used stamped bills to purchase gift cards from gas stations and box stores, where change is used most often. He then uses these gift cards to make online purchases, rather than using a credit or debit card. Clearly it’s worked wonders!

We hope these tips from our top Stamper have inspired you to try some new techniques. However you stamp, we’re glad to have you as part of the Stampede! With your help, we’ll #GetMoneyOut for good!
