How Do You Handle GPS Watch Failures During Long Hikes? 3 weeks, 2 days agoMy watch died halfway through a mountain trail last fall. I had a paper map in my backpack and used trail markers to finish. It taught me to always carry a physical backup. Batteries drain faster in cold weather, so I now pack a small power bank for emergencies.
